Independent verification & validation (IV&V) is done by a third-party organization not involved in the coding (development) of the software product. Thus, the software product get examined, tested and verified by third-party (during early phase) using some formal testing process in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025-2017. The primary check performed is whether the user requirements are met along side ensuring that the product is structurally built to the required specifications.
